Steps towards mission

  • We urge you to build a team of believers from your faith community. Share about Raise the Cross with your community and invite brothers and sisters in Christ to join you to this mission. Raise the Cross welcomes you to exalt our God together.

  • Raise the Cross will provide a Spiritual Guide to Fuji to assist you to lead your team of faith community.

  • Raise the Cross will provide physical training plans and tips which can fit in your busy schedule, focused on endurance, cardiovascular strength, and altitude tolerance.

  • We ask your team to build a wooden cross representing our identity in Christ. The cross dimension is to be 2 feet x 3 feet.

  • Invite your faith community to join you in prayer. If your community prefer to follow our prayer guide, please contact Raise the Cross.

Qualifications for climbers

  • We invite individuals who have faith in Christ as the Lord and Savior, and who belongs to a local body of Christ.

  • We invite individuals who practice spiritual disciplines in your daily walk in Christ.

  • We invite individuals with strong feet and good cardiovascular health.
    If you have a physical condition and cannot join our hike, consider to join through your prayer (more information on the “Support” page).

A special note

Participation is entirely voluntary, understanding that hiking on Mt.Fuji may involve risks, including, but not limited to, physical exertion, uneven terrain, and transportation hazards. Participants assume all risks, both known and unknown associated with hiking Mt. Fuji. Participants agree to release, hold harmless, and indemnify Raise the Cross from any and all liability, claims, demands, or cause of action for personal harm and property damage of any and all extent.

General Itinerary

  • Check In at Mt.Fuji 5th Station.

  • We start our hike with prayer at 5th station. As we ascend, we will stay together and continue to pray in one accord at each stations to the 8th station on the Day 1.

  • We arrive at the 8th station lodging approximately at 6pm on Day 1. We will gather at one table for our dinner at the lodge. After the dinner, we will rest at the lodge until early next day to commence our hike.

  • We group again at the entrance of the lodge and commence our hike from 8th station to the summit at 1am while it is dark.

  • We gather at the summit and raise the cross as we pray over the land of Japan and the world.

  • We hike down together from summit to the 5th station.

  • We gather at 5th station to give thanks to the Lord and commission each of us back to our communities in the name of Jesus Christ.
